Dimetrodon is a genus of Synapsid from the Permian period of North America and Europe, living around 280 million years ago. Dimetrodon is known from several species with 2 present at PaleoPark, the large Dimetrodon grandis and the cat-sized Dimetrodon teutonis.

Dimetrodon is more closely related to mammals than to Dinosaurs, sometimes being referred to as a "stem-mammal"
